Product description
This recall involves the 2010 version of the Workbench Leverage Gyms by Powertec. The gym has a lock and load removable bench section, opening up the lever area for power exercises (such as squats, shrugs and rows). The gym has either a black or yellow frame, as well as black upholstery.
The Powertec logo is printed on the removable bench. Recalled gyms can be identified by model number WB-LS10 or WB-LS10-B. Workbench Leverage Gyms sold after February 2010 with the same model numbers are not affected by this recall.
Hazard identified
The detachment of the exercise workbench from the gym system can cause instability, posing a risk of injury to consumers.
Health Canada, the US CPSC, and Powertec have not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these gyms.
Number sold
Approximately 27 of the recalled workbenches were sold in Canada, while approximately 1,000 units were available in the United States.
The workbenches were sold at fitness equipment dealers in both countries, and online at powertecfitness.com.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from October 2009 to February 2010 in both Canada and the United States.
Place of origin
Manufactured in China.

What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled gyms and contact Powertec to either receive a free repair kit, or to schedule a free repair with an authorized dealer.
