Product description
This recall involves all 2010 United Bindings by Rome Snowboards Corporation. The bindings come in black colorway and red colorway, and in sizes small, medium, and large. There are graphics on the back of the hiback (the pieces of binding situated behind the snowboarder's heel) and the rear portion of the baseplate (situated under the snowboarder's foot).
All 2010 United model bindings are potentially affected.

Hazard identified
The baseplate and hiback on the recalled bindings can become weak or brittle at cold temperatures, resulting in loss of control and/or injury to consumers while riding down a slope.
Worldwide, Rome Snowboards Corporation has received 14 reports of baseplates breaking with no reports of serious injuries.
Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these bindings.

Approximately 220 of the recalled bindings were sold in Canada. In the United States, approximately 1,140 of the recalled bindings were sold.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from September 2009 to December 2009 in Canada and the United States.
