Product description
This recall includes the following 2010-2011 model year adult Marker/Kästle Twin Cam ski bindings with a maximum release/retention setting of 12.0. Some of the recalled Marker rMotion and sMotion ski bindings were sold as ski/binding systems with Völkl skis. All of the recalled Kästle bindings were sold as ski/binding systems with Kästle skis. The following models are being recalled:
- Kästle K12 CTI (90mm and 110mm brake)
- Kästle K12 IBC
- Kästle K12 KTI
- Marker 12.0 TC Comp EPS in white/red
- Marker sMotion 12.0 TC in black/silver
- Marker sMotion 12.0 TC D in black/silver
- Marker Völkl rMotion 12.0 D system in white/red
Hazard identified
The steel spring in the heel piece of some bindings may crack or break, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
Health Canada, Kästle Canada and Marker Völkl Canada have not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these ski bindings.
Number sold
Approximately 483 pairs of the recalled Marker Völkl ski bindings were sold across Canada. Approximately 52 pairs of the recalled Kästle ski bindings were sold in Kelowna and Whistler, British Columbia.
Time period sold
The recalled products were sold from January 2010 to December 2010.
Place of origin
Manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Consumers should stop using these bindings and return them to a Kästle or Marker Authorized Retailer to determine if they are covered by this recall. Heel pieces of recalled bindings will be replaced at no charge. Skiers should bring their boots to be sure their bindings are adjusted correctly.
