Product description

This recall involves a 19 position digital multimeter that is identified by item number 700249 or number DT830D. The unit is black in colour with a PowerFist logo on the front of the unit.  The multimeter includes two test leads.

Hazard identified

The affected product has not been tested to determine whether it is compliant with the Canadian Standards for electrical product safety and may pose a safety hazard.

Princess Auto has received one report of an injury resulting in a minor electrical shock.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to Canadians related to the use of this multimeter.

Number sold

Approximately 9,589 units of the affected multimeters were sold at Princess Auto stores across Canada.

Time period sold

The affected multimeters were sold from March 1999 to January 2012.
